The First Day
Kelingking Beach
Kelingking is a breathtaking rocky cliff in the ocean. I had the opportunity to visit for the first time in April 2017, nearly two years after my initial trip to Nusa Penida. At the time, the area was quite secluded… Although it became more crowded with tourists by 2019, it is once again a great time to visit. It is truly spectacular and definitely worth the journey.
Broken Beach
Broken Beach is a scenic coastal formation on the southwestern edge of Nusa Penida. The spot is marked by a hilly rock arch, which is the star landmark of the area. Also known by its local name, Pasih Uug, it’s a great spot for travel photographers and anyone who wants to enjoy stunning panoramic views.
Angel’s Billabong
Angel’s Billabong is a spectacular rock formation near Pasih Uug (Broken Beach), on the southwestern end of Nusa Penida Island. Both spots offer views of beautiful cliffs and pristine coastlines. There’s a pathway leading to a naturally formed rock lagoon, offering a scenic seascape and pleasant swimming spot on the island.
Crystal Bay
Crystal Bay is the name of a secluded cove with a 200-metre stretch of sand on the west coast of Nusa Penida. Despite its isolation, the bay is quite accessible thanks to well-developed roads. Besides its beautiful, palm-fringed beach, the bay is best known as one of Nusa Penida’s famous snorkelling and dive sites.
The Second Day
Diamond Beach
Diamond Beach Nusa Penida is one of the best beaches on the island. The shiny white sand and turquoise water make this a must-see destination on the Nusa Islands. The swaying palm trees, large rock formations, and mighty cliff just add to the epicness of Diamond Beach Nusa Penida.
Atuh Beach
Bukit Jineng is one of the most striking outcrops at Pantai Atuh Beach. It’s also called Batu Bolong (‘hollow rock’ in Indonesian) due to its arch-like formation jutting out of the sea. The white-sand beach is accessible via a purpose-built stairway. If you’re up for a hike, you can attempt the narrow tracks along a rugged cliff face.
Tree House
The Tree House (Rumah Pohon) on Nusa Penida has become one of the most popular attractions and one of the most popular places to stay! It is perched up on the mountain at Thousand Island (Pulau Seribu) viewpoint near Atuh Beach.
Teletubbies Hill
The Teletubbies Hill (also known as ‘Bukit Teletubbies’) is a bit different from anything else Nusa Penida has to offer, even though it’s an island full of bizarre and unique sights! This is a group of big round hills in the center of the island that are named after their resemblance to the background scenery from the Teletubbies kids show.
